How to certify documents

A certified copy of a document is one that an authorised certifier (see the list below) has confirmed to be a true copy of the original document.

Examples of certified documents.

Certification process in Australia and New Zealand

  1. Make one copy of your photo ID.
  2. Take the original document and the copy to an authorised certifier.
  3. The certifier will check that the copy is the same as the original document.
  4. To certify the copy, the certifier will stamp or write ‘certified to be a true copy of the original’.  They will sign and date the copy and include their name and qualification as an authorised certifier.

Certification process in the United Kingdom

We offer online certification appointments for UK based customers.

  1. Email clientservices@www.worthingtonclark.com to arrange a certification appointment by video call.
  2. Send a copy of the original documents to clientservices@www.worthingtonclark.com before the appointment.
  3. Attend the appointment with the original documents.  During the video call the certifier will check that the copies are the same as the original documents.
  4. To certify the copy, the certifier will stamp or write ‘certified to be a true copy of the original’.  They will sign and date the copy and include their name and qualification as an authorised certifier.
